Slate Heart’s Out There, a Review & Migraine

Honestly, I’ll not go on and on about it, but migraine is a bitch. I thought I’d got on top of it with a change in prophylactic meds a few months ago, successfully lessening the severity and length of attacks, but boom! You know it’s going to be a bad one when it wakes you up at 1am…

Anyhow… sample chapters finally published on Libraro. I got there in the end, but it was a fun edit, must be honest. Click the pic to go there and have a read 😃

A beta reader review of the complete novel:

After the first chapter, I was immediately hooked by the story’s raw, earthy atmosphere and the intense family conflict. The opening scene of Lowri spying on her brother was a bold and brilliant way to introduce her curious, resilient nature and set the stakes for her displacement from the farm. It promised a story that wouldn’t shy away from the messier, more passionate aspects of life, and it definitely delivered.

I am now plotting a sequel as 1) I can’t leave Lowri and Ed behind just yet and 2) I’m told sagas are the in-thing!

Right, I need another Zolmitriptan – ‘scuse me 😵‍💫
